Abstrakt (ENG):

The paper examines the poems of Slovak poets (especially P. Gregor, D. Hevier, T. Janovic and J. Urban), which are genetically and typologically linked to M. Valek’s poem Smutná ranná električka (Sad Morning Tram). The paper focuses on the forms and rendering of the topos of the tram and its influence on the composition, rhythmic shaping and sound organisation of the text. The tram in poetry represents the modern city and various aspects of the life of the urban man. The basic concept is that of a container, most often in the form of a case for the germs of life or a receptacle for remains. As a movable vessel used for transportation, the topos of the tram follows older symbols of a similar focus (ship, train). In the tram with the symptom of morning, the two-component time (cyclic repetition – dynamizing rupture) is applied.
