Abstrakt (ENG):
The study clarifies the differences between the two established approaches to arch-narratives, namely Propp’s morphology and Lévi‑Strauss’ mythology, on the basis of the research conducted by an American folklorist David Pace. Some scholars (Dundes) consider the approaches to be the variants of the same conceptual‑methodological paradigm. The differences between the approaches as well as the potential of their complementary influences and connections are demonstrated through the analysis of the folktale type 510A.
