Abstrakt (ENG):
The theme of the study is the changing roles and functions of women in literary
works of Don Juan from the 18th to the 21st century. The author outlines three periods. In the first, Don Juan is still the subject of the couple relationship, who sees the woman only as the object of his actions. The second is the Romantic Don Juan period, when the woman is posited as the ideal object. In the third, Don Juan loses his role of subject and is taken over by the woman. Finally, Donna Juana appears in literature as Don Juan’s equal partner. The author outlines these conditions through a textual analysis of specific literary works.
