Abstrakt (ENG):
The starting point of contemporary educational activity in the subject of Slovak language and literature is to be familiar with the learner’s understanding of the world, how it is manifested in the perception of words, sentences/utterances, language expressions/texts. Research in the field of psycholinguistics and other related scientific disciplines proves that the primary influence on the formation of a learner’s personality, specifically on the development of learners’ thinking, is the level of knowledge of the language, or communication competence. The contribution focuses on texts from the aspect of communication and education, specifically on the analytical unit of journalistic style (in the editorial genre). The editorial is, together with other forms of journalistic style, e.g. with the comment, gloss, criticism, discussion, debate, etc., an interesting and suitable unit of journalism for school analysis. For the teaching text, it is interesting from the point of view of the classification of journalistic style. And it is precisely in this direction that Slovak language school textbooks for secondary schools allow us to “see” more approaches to the analysis of the mentioned unit as a model structure. The present article points out new possibilities for didactic work with the text and opens up new possibilities in the conceptual-terminological field and in the definition of genre as a model structure that is located in the space of social (systemic) textual structures. At the same time, it is defined in the context of relationships such as stylistic progression – stylistic structure – style – text.
