Abstrakt (ENG):
This article investigates the role of metonymy in the formation of Russian-Slovak interlingual homonyms, highlighting its frequent occurrence as a key factor in interlingual homonymy. The study explores the types of semantic relationships that emerge, both from a synchronic perspective, analyzing current Russian-Slovak interactions, and from a diachronic viewpoint, tracing the evolution of meanings and relationships back to their Proto-Slavic origins. This dual approach provides a comprehensive understanding of the semantic dynamics at play in these linguistic phenomena.
