Abstrakt (ENG):

In the paper Slovak translations of the poetry of the Russian symbolist poet Alexander Blok is discussed. A new book of Blok’s poetry Čo vietor spieva (Of What the Wind Sings) compiled and translated by Alojz Nociar together with other already existing translations of Blok’s work (made by J. Jesenský, R. Skukálek, and Ľ. Feldek) provoked the question of what is the image of A. Blok in the Slovak contemporary literary context formed by all these translations together. Although it is naturally expected that a new translation will
be better that the previous ones it need not necessarily be so. The comparative analysis of various translations showed that the new translations of Blok’s poetry are the case.
