Abstrakt (ENG):

The article reconstructs the presence and development of the Slovak language and cultural studies at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, combining a historical disciplinary perspective with the dimension of personal and academic memory. Drawing on recollections of the years of study and Slavistic training during the 1980s and 1990s, it examines teaching methods, course contents, academic figures, and the main areas of interest, highlighting the role of Slovak within the broader framework of Italian Slavistics and the contribution of “L’Orientale” to the linguistic and cultural understanding of the Slovak area.
