Abstrakt (ENG):
The author focuses on the personality of William Ritter on the basis of the book The Image of Dreamland, written by French professor Xavier Galmiche. The article reveals the background of Ritter‘s relationship with Slovakia, its culture and its inhabitants. His notes and diaries from the beginning of the 20th century, where he presented an unusual picture of Slovakia, are especially inspiring.
