Abstrakt (ENG):

The article deals with the reflection of the topic of the coronavirus pandemic in the literature for children. We conducted research on Slovak book production against the background of findings from American literature. Although in the case of American literature it is an incomparably larger book market, we were interested in whether the Slovak context reflects the trends of American book production. Due to the diversity of the systems compared, our findings were gratifying. Like American book production, Slovak has brought its youngest readers, as well as their parents, teachers or psychologists, quality book publications and several (mostly educational) electronic publications, whether original or translated (their lists are presented in tables). The only difference we noticed is that in Slovakia, the professional community of health and social workers was not involved in the process of publishing educational e-books. We attribute this finding to the state of the Slovak healthcare system – both to its financial malnutrition and to the excessive burden on its employees in comparison with other developed countries.
